Patna: A review meeting on the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of Bihar’s electricity distribution and power transmission companies was held at Vidyut Bhawan in Patna on May 26 under the chairmanship of Pratyaya Amrit.

The meeting was attended by Ajay Yadav, Managing Director of Bihar’s DISCOMs Rahul Kumar, and field-level officials including Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, and Electrical Executive Engineers from across the state through video conferencing.

Focus on Consumer Services

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the functioning of electricity distribution and transmission companies and discussed the progress of ongoing projects in the energy sector.

He said the Bihar government remained committed to ensuring uninterrupted and quality electricity supply to consumers. He also directed officials to improve responsiveness towards consumers and expedite the resolution of complaints.

Pratyaya Amrit instructed officials at both headquarters and field levels to conduct regular site visits and strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms, including Fuse Call Centers.

He warned that departmental action would be taken against officials found negligent in addressing consumer grievances or failing to perform assigned duties.

Directions to Distribution Companies

Ajay Yadav asked electricity officials and employees to strictly implement the directives issued during the review meeting. He said resolving consumer-related issues should remain the department’s top priority.

Rahul Kumar directed officials of both the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited to immediately address complaints related to faulty meters and service disruptions.

He also instructed officials to strengthen the functioning of the AMISP system to improve operational efficiency and consumer services.
