Patna: The X account of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’, a satirical political outfit created amid controversy surrounding Supreme Court Justice Surya Kant, has been suspended from the platform.

The development comes days after online backlash erupted over remarks allegedly made by Justice Surya Kant during a Supreme Court hearing. According to claims circulated on social media, the judge had compared unemployed youth in the country to “cockroaches”, triggering criticism and protests online.

Justice Surya Kant later issued a clarification regarding the statement after the controversy intensified.

Social Media Backlash

The controversy quickly gained traction across social media platforms, particularly among young users expressing anger over unemployment-related issues.

In response, a group of users launched the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ as a satirical political initiative. The account used humour and political commentary to criticise the alleged remarks and broader concerns surrounding unemployment.

Within a short period, the account reportedly attracted hundreds of thousands of followers and saw significant engagement online.

X Account Suspended

The account was later suspended by X, formerly known as Twitter. The platform has not publicly issued a detailed explanation regarding the suspension at the time of publication.

The suspension has further fuelled debate online, with users questioning the platform’s moderation policies and discussing the broader implications for political satire and online dissent.
