Patna: Bihar government has approved a new food processing investment worth approximately Rs 17.25 crore, with Moogy Foods Private Limited set to establish a manufacturing facility in Hajipur’s Goraul industrial area.
The proposed unit, which will be developed at Industrial Area Goraul Phase-I in Vaishali district, is expected to boost food manufacturing in the state while creating employment opportunities and supporting local economic growth.
The approval was granted during a meeting of the Project Clearance Committee (PCC) of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), chaired by Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Industries Department and Managing Director of BIADA and IDA.
Land Approved For New Manufacturing Facility
During the meeting, the committee cleared multiple proposals related to the allotment of industrial land and plug-and-play sheds across Bihar’s industrial areas.
Among the approved projects was Moogy Foods’ proposal to establish a food processing unit at Goraul.
The facility will be developed over approximately two acres and will manufacture Kurkure, puffs and other ready-to-eat snack products.
Officials said the project would contribute to the expansion of value-added food manufacturing in Bihar and strengthen the state’s food processing ecosystem.
Around 200 Employment Opportunities Expected
According to project estimates, the unit is expected to generate approximately 200 direct and indirect jobs.
The investment is also expected to create opportunities for skill development and employment among local youth in and around Vaishali district.
Industry officials believe the project could help attract additional investments into Bihar’s food processing sector, which has emerged as a priority area under the state’s industrial development strategy.
Government Seeks To Expand Food Processing Sector
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the state government was working to position food processing as a major pillar of Bihar’s industrial growth.
She said projects in the sector help create value from local agricultural resources while generating employment and encouraging industrial expansion.
“The government is committed to providing all necessary support to investors with the objective of making Bihar a leading destination for the food processing industry,” Singh said.
Bihar Promoting Investor-Friendly Policies
Kundan Kumar said Bihar had focused on improving industrial infrastructure, simplifying procedures and creating an investor-friendly environment to attract new businesses.
He noted that investments in food processing could play a key role in accelerating industrialisation while generating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for local residents.
Officials said the latest approval reflects Bihar’s broader efforts to diversify its industrial base and leverage its strong agricultural economy to attract food manufacturing investments.
The proposed Hajipur facility is expected to add to a growing pipeline of food processing projects being developed across the state as Bihar seeks to expand its manufacturing footprint and create jobs in rural and semi-urban regions.
