Patna: Indian cricket team fast bowler Akashdeep married Akshita in a grand ceremony held at Taj Ganges Hotel in Varanasi on Wednesday, attended by guests from cricket, politics, and public life.
The wedding blended traditional rituals with high-profile celebrations, drawing attention for Bhojpuri actor and Bihar Legislative Council member Pawan Singh’s stage appearance.
Pawan Singh’s Stage Performance Draws Attention
During the ceremony, Pawan Singh performed the Bhojpuri song “Bhagwan Badi Fursat Se Akashdeep Ke Banavle Baaden”, extending his wishes to the couple.
Guests present at the venue were seen cheering and recording the performance, with many joining in the celebrations as the atmosphere turned festive.
Bride Seeks Blessings After Performance
Following the performance, bride Akshita approached the stage and touched Pawan Singh’s feet, seeking his blessings. The gesture drew attention from guests and quickly circulated on social media platforms.
Wedding Ceremony and Rituals
The wedding rituals were conducted with priests from Kashi performing dwar puja and Vedic chanting, followed by the varmala ceremony between Akashdeep and Akshita.
Akashdeep was also seen dancing during the baraat, where friends and relatives joined in the celebrations late into the night.
Venue, Security and Arrangements
The ceremony was hosted at Taj Ganges Hotel with themed décor inspired by a Shiva temple design. Entry for around 300 guests was managed through QR code-based scanning for security and organisation.
A curated food menu reportedly priced at around Rs 4,500 per plate included Banarasi specialities alongside international cuisine, while makeup artists were flown in from Delhi for the bride and groom.
Public Figures and Pre-Wedding Blessings
Ahead of the wedding, Akashdeep reportedly took blessings from Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya via video call.
The cricketer, recently appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the Bihar government, is set to travel to Sasaram in Rohtas district with his wife after the wedding for a local reception.
