Gayaji: The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya has concluded a five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on artificial intelligence for 13 faculty members from the Royal Institute of Management. The residential programme aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of AI and its practical applications in higher education.
The programme was organised under the executive chairpersonship of Dr Amit Kumar Srivastava, under the guidance of Prof. Vinita S. Sahay, and coordinated by Dr Samant Saurabh and Dr Madan Lal Yadav.
Focus On Practical AI Applications
The programme combined conceptual learning with practical sessions to help participants integrate artificial intelligence into teaching, research, institutional leadership and decision-making. It sought to prepare educators to use AI tools to improve academic delivery, research productivity and institutional effectiveness.
Participants explored topics including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, large language models and prompt engineering. Hands-on sessions introduced AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and NotebookLM, alongside modules covering AI-assisted research, data storytelling, persuasive presentations, document synthesis, business strategy, governance, digital marketing, forecasting, decision support, and AI safety and security.
Capstone Projects And Institutional Learning
The programme concluded with a capstone project in which participants developed and presented AI-enabled solutions for real-world institutional and management challenges. According to the institute, the exercise was designed to encourage participants to apply the knowledge gained during the programme to practical scenarios.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vinita S. Sahay said artificial intelligence is reshaping higher education and highlighted the need to equip educators with future-ready capabilities that support innovation, critical thinking and the responsible adoption of technology.
Strengthening International Collaboration
According to IIM Bodh Gaya, the programme forms part of its broader focus on executive education and international capacity-building initiatives. By hosting faculty members from Bhutan, the institute said it aims to strengthen cross-border academic collaboration while supporting the use of emerging technologies in teaching, research and institutional governance.
