Patna: A minor has been arrested in Bihar’s Patna district after allegedly posting videos featuring firearms on social media to project a tough-guy image. Police in Bihta recovered a country-made pistol and three live cartridges from his possession and have launched a wider investigation into the origin of the weapon and his online activities.
The arrest followed an inquiry into videos and reels allegedly uploaded by the juvenile on social media platforms. Police are examining his mobile phone, social media accounts and digital communications as part of the investigation.
Social Media Accounts Under Investigation
According to the police, the minor operated Facebook and Instagram accounts under the name ‘Rangbaaz Ahir’.
Investigators alleged that the accounts featured reels and videos showing country-made pistols, standard pistols and other weapons. Several of the videos reportedly used Bhojpuri songs as background audio.
Probe Into Weapons Featured in Videos
Police are verifying whether all the firearms shown in the videos were genuine or whether some were replicas or props.
As part of the investigation, officers are analysing the minor’s mobile phone, chat records, call details and contacts to determine whether others were involved in producing or sharing the content.
Focus on Source of Illegal Firearm
Investigators are also working to establish how the minor obtained the country-made pistol and to identify those who may have supplied the weapon.
Police said they are examining whether any other individuals were involved in the case, either in providing the firearm or encouraging the creation and circulation of the videos.
