Patna: Patna Civil Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to educator Khan Sir, also known as Faisal Khan, in connection with a case registered over an alleged firing incident near Khan Global Studies Institute. The court also granted bail to his two bodyguards, who had been lodged in judicial custody.
According to Khan Sir’s counsel, Arvind Singh Mahuar, a total of six accused have received relief in the case. The court’s order comes after the matter had been heard and judgment was reserved.
Charges Against Khan Sir
An anticipatory bail petition was filed on behalf of Khan Sir following the registration of a criminal case against him. The FIR included provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. During the proceedings, allegations related to attempted murder and arms offences were also placed before the court.
Following Monday’s order, Khan Sir has secured protection from arrest, while his bodyguards have been released on bail.
Court Had Reserved Its Verdict
The hearing in the matter had concluded earlier, after which the Patna Civil Court reserved its judgment. During the proceedings, the court sought details regarding Khan Sir’s criminal history.
The defence submitted that the police had already completed the investigation and filed the case records, placing all relevant facts before the court. Although the matter was listed for July 10, the order could not be pronounced that day because the District Judge was unavailable.
Lawyer Welcomes Court Order
Speaking after the hearing, advocate Arvind Singh Mahuar said Khan Sir had been granted anticipatory bail, while the two security personnel arrested in the case had also secured bail.
He added that the police investigation had been conducted properly and that the relevant facts were reflected in the case diary submitted before the court.
Background of the Case
The case stems from a viral video allegedly showing firing near Khan Global Studies Institute in Patna. Based on the video, Kadamkuan police registered Case No. 418/2026 on June 4, 2026.
The FIR named Khan Sir, his two security personnel and several unidentified individuals under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. The two security personnel were arrested and remanded to judicial custody during the investigation.
The investigation into the case remains underway, while the court’s latest order provides interim legal relief to the accused.
