Patna: Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit on Monday directed officials to accelerate the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (ULA Model) and the Chief Minister Agricultural Electricity Connection Scheme, stressing that all targets must be achieved within the prescribed timeframe.
Chairing a review meeting via video conference, the Chief Secretary assessed district-wise progress under both schemes and called for faster verification of eligible beneficiaries and closer monitoring of implementation.
Verification Of Beneficiaries To Be Expedited
During the meeting, Ajay Yadav, Energy Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), presented district-wise progress reports on the two schemes.
He said beneficiary verification, rooftop solar installation, quality control and implementation monitoring under the ULA Model were being carried out regularly from the state headquarters.
Pratyay Amrit directed officials to complete the verification of all eligible Kutir Jyoti consumers at the earliest so that more households could benefit from the scheme.
He also instructed district authorities to ensure that implementation targets are achieved within the stipulated timeline and that field inspections are carried out regularly.
The review meeting was attended by Rahul Kumar, Managing Director of the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL), Saurav Jorwal, Managing Director of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL), along with district magistrates, superintendents of police and senior officials from across the state.
Vendors Asked To Meet 100-Day Installation Targets
Later in the day, Ajay Yadav chaired a separate review meeting with vendors responsible for rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the ULA Model.
The Energy Department instructed vendors to install the prescribed number of rooftop solar systems each day in line with the government’s 100-day target and submit daily progress reports to the respective power distribution companies.
Vendors lagging behind their assigned targets were directed to speed up work and complete installations within the stipulated schedule.
Warning Of Action Against Non-Performing Vendors
Ajay Yadav warned that vendors failing to demonstrate satisfactory progress would be issued show-cause notices, with further action taken in accordance with the rules.
He said daily performance would be reviewed against prescribed targets and that vendor accountability would be assessed on the basis of their progress.
The state government said the measures are intended to ensure timely completion of rooftop solar installations and enable more consumers to benefit from the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
