Patna: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna, concluded its three-day Orientation Programme ’26 on Friday, welcoming 201 newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students as they prepare to begin their academic journey.
The final day featured a specially curated city tour, including a visit to meet the Governor of Bihar, aimed at familiarising students with the state’s cultural heritage while encouraging civic awareness and institutional pride.
The orientation programme concluded with alumni interactions and motivational sessions by eminent personalities, offering students insights into academic excellence, career pathways, industry expectations and professional development.
Focus On Academic And Professional Growth
Addressing the new batch, Col Rahul Sharma, Director of NIFT Patna, congratulated the students on joining the institute and encouraged them to pursue excellence with dedication, creativity and integrity.
He said the orientation programme had been designed to introduce students to the institute’s academic structure, administrative systems, student support services, industry partnerships and campus culture.
Sharma urged students to make the most of the opportunities available at NIFT Patna and to develop into responsible professionals capable of contributing to the fashion, design and creative industries while embracing innovation, sustainability and inclusivity.

The concluding sessions saw enthusiastic participation in discussions with NIFT alumni, who shared their professional journeys, workplace experiences and practical advice on building careers in the rapidly evolving fashion and design sector.
Students interacted directly with the alumni, seeking guidance on career planning, industry expectations and emerging opportunities within the creative economy.
