Patna: The Bihar State Khadi and Village Industries Board has made certified Khadi national flags available for sale at the Khadi Mall in East Gandhi Maidan, Patna, ahead of Independence Day. The board said the initiative is aimed at strengthening the spirit of patriotism among citizens.
The flags are intended for use by individuals, educational institutions, and government and private offices during the Independence Day celebrations.
Sizes And Prices
According to the board, Khadi national flags are available in four sizes: 2×3 feet for Rs 900, 3×4.5 feet for Rs 1,700, 6×4 feet for Rs 2,400, and 9×6 feet for Rs 6,000. Table flags and car flags are also on sale, priced at Rs 310 each.
Board Cites Support For Weavers
Dr Vidyanand Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Khadi and Village Industries Board and Director of Handloom and Sericulture, said the Khadi national flag represented more than national honour. According to Singh, the flag also reflects the principles of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Swadeshi,” as well as the work of Khadi weavers and spinners across the state.
Singh appealed to citizens, educational institutions, and government and private establishments to use only certified Khadi Tricolours on Independence Day and other national occasions. He said adopting the Khadi Tricolour would help support the livelihoods of weavers and spinners in Bihar, in addition to being a mark of respect for the nation.
He further linked the purchase of Khadi flags to the government’s “Vocal for Local” initiative.
Board’s Appeal To Citizens
The board reiterated its appeal for citizens to use only certified Khadi flags during Independence Day and other national festivals, stating that purchases directly support the state’s weaving and spinning communities.
How To Purchase
Citizens, educational institutions, and government or private offices can buy Khadi national flags, table flags, and car flags according to their requirements from the Khadi Mall at East Gandhi Maidan, Patna, during office hours.
