Patna: The construction of the 1.17 km Daniyawan bypass under the National Highway-30A (Fatuha-Harnaut-Barh) Path Project has been completed, marking a significant step toward easing traffic and boosting development in the region. This bypass is part of the 71.774 km NH-30A, with 70.604 km already completed as of May 31, 2022. The highway runs from Maharani Chowk, Fatuha, passing through Daniyawan, Jaitipur Mod, Harnaut, and Saksohra, covering 36.474 km in Patna district and 35.30 km in Nalanda district.
Constructed under a supplementary agreement, the Daniyawan bypass also includes a new railway overbridge (ROB) proposed by the Railways. The project was funded under the World Bank-supported National Highways Inter-connectivity Improvement Project (NHIIP) Phase-I, with ₹45.99 crore sanctioned by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The total expenditure for the bypass, including the new ROB and approach road, amounted to ₹35.96 crore.
In addition to the bypass, two pedestrian underpasses (PUP), two railway overbridges (ROB), and a service road were also constructed as part of the project. The bypass is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in Daniyawan Market, primarily caused by the local railway gate, improving the daily commute for local residents.
This infrastructure improvement is seen as a critical development for the region, providing smoother traffic flow and contributing to the overall growth of the area.
