Fatuha: The administration is ramping up preparations for the Chhath Mahaparva in Fatuha, initiating cleaning and construction work at Chhath Ghat. On Tuesday, Satyam Sahay, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Patna City, conducted an inspection of the ghat and issued necessary directives to the police station in-charge, the city executive officer, and sector officials.
During the inspection, Sahay emphasized the importance of removing encroachments along the approach road to Chhath Ghat and ensuring proper street lighting. He also instructed that barricades be erected for security at all ghats, with hazardous areas marked and cordoned off with red cloth. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) will be deployed for added safety.
Basic facilities for devotees will be prioritized, including separate toilets for men and women, clean drinking water, changing rooms, and sheds for devotees’ accommodation. Improved vehicle parking facilities will also be established outside the ghats. Officials have been directed to maintain ongoing communication with local Puja committees to gather feedback and address concerns.
The SDO inspected several ghats, including Mouniya Ghat, Mahavir Ghat, Triveni Ghat, Mastana Ghat, Devanti Ghat, Kataiya Ghat, Dariyapur Ghat, Raipura Seedhi Ghat, and Kevala Ghat. Accompanying Sahay during the inspection were CO Mukesh Kumar, Municipal Council Executive Officer Vinay Kumar, Police Station Head Rupak Kumar Ambuj, and Nadi Police Station officers SI Kaushal Kumar and SI Shivani Kumari, among others.
