Patna: Kumar Ravi, Secretary of the Building Construction Department, conducted an inspection of the new Collectorate building currently under construction in Patna. Accompanied by District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, SSP Rajiv Mishra, and various officials from the Building Construction Department and district administration, he reviewed the progress of the construction work.
During the inspection, Kumar Ravi assessed several aspects, including floor-wise and block-wise timelines, entry-exit control, emergency evacuation facilities, fire safety measures, and the status of installations such as toilets, ventilation, and lighting. He expressed satisfaction with the physical progress and emphasized the importance of meeting both general and specific requirements for the Collectorate. Additionally, he directed officials to install clear signage on each floor to assist the public.
Kumar Ravi highlighted that the new Collectorate building will be equipped with advanced security protocols and modern facilities, including ample seating areas, restrooms, and drinking water. He noted that construction work is ongoing around the clock to ensure timely completion, with the goal of finishing by November 15. Discussions also included maintenance arrangements for the new facility.
The Collectorate complex, situated along the banks of the Ganga River, is designed to blend existing and contemporary architectural styles. Covering an area of 43,454 square meters, it will house 39 departments under one roof, fostering improved service delivery to residents. The building will feature five floors, a basement, and a ground floor, along with two additional blocks for the SDO, DDC, District Board Office, and Multi-Utility Building Block.
With a focus on sustainability, the building will offer 205 open parking spaces and 240 in the basement, alongside features such as CCTV surveillance, a state-of-the-art fire safety system, and earthquake-resistant construction. The complex will include several conference rooms equipped with audio-visual technology, a canteen, and solar panels for rainwater harvesting and energy conservation, ensuring optimal facilities for the public.
