Patna: Traffic arrangements have been modified in the city on Tuesday in view of protests by student organisations and a foot march from Gandhi Maidan to Lok Bhawan.
From 10am until traffic returns to normal, vehicle movement will be restricted around Gandhi Maidan and on several major connecting roads, according to the traffic plan.
The movement of commercial vehicles, autos and e-rickshaws around Gandhi Maidan will remain prohibited during the period. Autos and e-rickshaws approaching from Police Line and Bank Road will also be stopped.
Routes Facing Restrictions
Autos and e-rickshaws will not be allowed to operate from Buddh Marg via Chhajjubagh towards TN Banerjee Path. Movement from Kotwali T-point towards the Buddh Marg-Police Line intersection will also be restricted.
Vehicle movement from Income Tax Golambar towards Kotwali will remain suspended.
Autos and e-rickshaws approaching Gandhi Maidan from SP Verma Road will be stopped at Swaminandan T-point and sent back towards Bata Mor.
Vehicles approaching Gandhi Maidan from the north through Bhattacharya Crossing on Exhibition Road will also face restrictions.
On Ashok Rajpath, autos and e-rickshaws travelling from Gaighat towards Gandhi Maidan will have to take a U-turn near the western end of the double-decker flyover, west of Kargil Chowk, and return towards Gaighat.
Diversions For Commuters
Vehicles travelling from Income Tax Golambar towards Kotwali will be diverted through Mandiri Nala towards Ashok Rajpath.
Autos and e-rickshaws operating from Machhua Toli through Baripath will be allowed up to Thakurbari Mor, from where they will return. They will not be permitted to proceed towards the Gandhi Maidan-Bakarganj area.
Autos and e-rickshaws coming from Danapur through Rajapur Pul will be diverted back towards Danapur at the Police Line intersection.
Restrictions Near Patna Junction
Vehicle movement from Patna Junction towards Dakbungalow Crossing, as well as from the Patna Station area towards Dakbungalow Crossing, will be completely prohibited and diverted.
Traffic from Hartali Mor towards Income Tax Golambar will also be restricted, with vehicles diverted towards Atal Path.
On Nehru Path, vehicles travelling from Boring Road Crossing towards Income Tax Golambar will be diverted towards Boring Road.
Commuters travelling through central Patna have been advised to account for the restrictions and use the designated diversion routes until traffic movement returns to normal.
