World First Aid Day: Patna Women’s College Trains 233 Staff Members In CPR

The Health Centre and Department of Home Science organised the session with Mediversal Healthcare to strengthen emergency response skills.

Patna: The Health Centre and Department of Home Science at Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with Mediversal Healthcare Pvt Ltd, organised an awareness and training session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the college’s teaching and support staff on September 12.

A total of 150 teaching staff and 83 support staff participated in the programme, which focused on CPR techniques and basic emergency response during cardiac emergencies or sudden collapse.World First Aid Day: Patna Women’s College Trains 233 Staff Members In CPR

Training On Emergency Response

The training was conducted by healthcare professionals from Mediversal Hospital. Ansamma Thomas, Chief Nursing Superintendent, spoke about recognising common medical emergencies and appropriate first-aid measures.

Trainer Sundaram Singh demonstrated CPR techniques, including correct hand positioning, chest compression rate and depth, and the importance of maintaining continuous CPR.World First Aid Day: Patna Women’s College Trains 233 Staff Members In CPR

The demonstrations were followed by hands-on practice, allowing participants to practise the techniques and develop familiarity with performing CPR.

Programme Coordination

The programme was coordinated by Dr Sarita Srivastava, Health Centre In-charge, Patna Women’s College. It was conducted under the guidance of Dr Sister M Tanisha A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, and Dr Shazia Hussain, Head of the Department of Home Science.World First Aid Day: Patna Women’s College Trains 233 Staff Members In CPR

The organisers said the session provided staff members with practical knowledge and skills to respond more effectively during medical emergencies.
