Bodh Gaya: Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya hosted Convergence 3.0, its flagship healthcare summit, on September 13, bringing together industry leaders, healthcare professionals and practitioners to discuss the changing demands of healthcare management.
The summit was organised around the theme “The Next Frontier of Healthcare: Leading Change, Building Capability and Scaling Impact.” Discussions focused on three broad areas — healthcare leadership and strategic transformation, the future healthcare workforce, and digital transformation in healthcare.
Healthcare Leadership And Strategic Transformation
The opening panel examined the changing dynamics of the healthcare sector, including private equity investment, hospital expansion and consolidation, insurance penetration and gaps in healthcare access.
The discussion also explored emerging healthcare needs and the strategic challenges facing healthcare organisations.

Focus On Future Healthcare Workforce
A second session focused on talent, skills and organisational transformation in the healthcare sector.
Speakers discussed technological adaptation, patient relationships, HR-led organisational change, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, talent development and customised learning.

AI And Digital Transformation In Healthcare
The third discussion, titled “Digital Transformation in Healthcare: Scaling Innovation, Intelligence & Impact,” examined how artificial intelligence and digital technologies could expand access and improve healthcare delivery.
The session also looked at the role of technology in data-driven decision-making, patient education and building trust as healthcare organisations adopt digital tools.

IIM Bodh Gaya Highlights Healthcare Management Programme
The summit also highlighted IIM Bodh Gaya’s MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management (HHM) programme, which combines academic learning with industry exposure and practical understanding of the healthcare sector.
Participants from business, BDS, physiotherapy and engineering backgrounds attended the summit. Discussions brought together perspectives from healthcare, consulting, pharmaceuticals, technology and human resources.
The programme’s industry engagement is aimed at helping students understand current healthcare practices and emerging management requirements.
Institute Emphasises Industry And Academic Linkages
The event began with Ganesh Vandana and ceremonial lamp lighting. Prof Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, welcomed participants and spoke about the institute’s responsibility towards students and the wider community.
She highlighted the importance of preparing professionals who can understand the changing healthcare environment and contribute to stronger healthcare delivery. She also reaffirmed IIM Bodh Gaya’s connection with Bihar.
Prof Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management programme, emphasised the need to rethink healthcare management amid rapid changes in the sector and strengthen the connection between academic learning and industry exposure.
