Patna: Bihar GAIL will conduct a special campaign to increase the use of piped natural gas (PNG) in areas where the network is already available. As part of the drive, 10-day camps will be organised in residential societies to help consumers register for PNG connections.
The campaign will focus on consumers who have access to PNG but have not yet registered for the service. GAIL teams will visit society premises to provide information, complete registration and assist consumers with the connection process.
LPG Connections May Be Blocked
Bihar GAIL General Manager A.K. Singh said consumers in areas with an operational PNG network do not need to remain dependent on LPG cylinders for cooking gas.
According to Singh, consumers who have PNG available in their area but deliberately do not register may face action, including blocking of their LPG connection. He said consumers would first be informed about the requirement and given adequate opportunity to complete the PNG registration process.
Registration Facility At Society Premises
The 10-day camps are intended to make the registration process easier for residents by bringing GAIL officials directly to housing societies. Consumers will be able to receive information about PNG registration, connections and the gasification process at the camps.

LPG Suspension Required After PNG Connection
Consumers who take a PNG connection will also have to complete the process of suspending their LPG connection.
GAIL officials said the campaign is aimed at encouraging the use of PNG where pipeline infrastructure is already available. The initiative is also intended to avoid maintaining dual gas arrangements and ensure greater utilisation of the existing PNG network.
The move does not mean that LPG connections across Patna will be blocked. The proposed action specifically concerns consumers in areas where PNG is available and who do not complete the required registration process, according to the information provided by Bihar GAIL.
