Patna: Gautam Adani has announced that the Adani Group will invest between Rs 50,000 crore and Rs 60,000 crore in Bihar over the next two to three years, expanding its footprint in sectors including power, roads, logistics, social infrastructure and industry.
The announcement was made during his visit to Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in Saran district, where he attended a foundation-laying ceremony for a rural eye-care network project. He said the proposed investment would also include expansion into public-facing services such as hospitals, schools and universities, with projects planned not only in Saran but also in Patna.
Investment Across Core Sectors
Speaking to reporters, Adani said Bihar was entering a phase where local development should directly benefit residents through employment and improved services. He said efforts should be made to ensure that people in Bihar find work opportunities within the state instead of migrating elsewhere.
He said the investment would support multiple sectors considered essential to economic growth, including transport, energy and industrial development. He also underlined the need for improved road infrastructure and industrial expansion, saying Bihar required stronger foundational resources to support long-term growth.
Healthcare And Education Expansion
Adani said the group’s future work in Bihar would include building institutions linked to healthcare and education. He said his visit to Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital had influenced the decision to contribute further to social welfare initiatives in the state.
The foundation ceremony was held for a new training and rural healthcare initiative linked to the hospital. Officials including Mrityunjay Tiwari and Dr Rajvardhan Azad were present during the event.
Remarks On Bihar’s Development
Adani said reliable and affordable electricity was necessary for every household and described the state as being prepared for wider development. He also praised the work ethic of Bihar’s people and said local residents should be given opportunities within their own state.
Earlier in the day, he visited Gayatri Shaktipeeth, where he offered prayers before attending the hospital event. During the interaction, he also spoke about the significance of the Gayatri mantra, saying it brought him personal peace.
