Patna: AIIMS Patna has hosted the 35th Academic Programme of the Neurosurgical Society of India (NSSI), a major national initiative aimed at strengthening clinical competencies and advancing neurosurgical education across the country. The two-day event, held on Saturday, brought together nearly 50 neurosurgeons from leading medical institutions.
The NSSI Academic Programme, designed to foster continuous learning and professional development, includes scientific sessions, skill-based workshops, expert lectures and interactive discussions. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and improved neurosurgical standards nationwide.
The event was inaugurated by Professor (Brigadier) Dr Raju Agarwal, Director of AIIMS Patna, in the presence of distinguished national faculty, including:

Organisers emphasised that the programme focused on equipping young neurosurgeons with essential clinical skills. Training modules covered systematic patient evaluation, accurate neurological diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment selection across diverse neurosurgical conditions.
Dr Anand Kumar Das, the organising secretary, along with Dr Brajesh and Dr Neeraj Kannaujia, said the initiative reflects AIIMS Patna’s growing leadership in neurosurgical education. They noted that the programme strengthens a nationwide learning network dedicated to improving high-quality patient care.
