Gayaji: After a five-year wait, Air India has resumed direct flight operations between Gayaji (Bodh Gaya) and Delhi, with bookings now open ahead of the inaugural flight on September 1. The reintroduction of this route is expected to significantly benefit both domestic passengers and international tourists visiting the prominent pilgrimage and heritage site in Bihar.
According to the airline, the flight will depart daily from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 at 2.30pm, arriving at Gayaji Airport by 4pm. The return leg will depart Gayaji at 4.40pm, reaching Delhi at 6.10pm.
Fares for the newly resumed route start at Rs 7,122 for economy class, while business class tickets are priced up to Rs 25,000. With this addition, travellers will now have two direct flight options between the cities, as IndiGo already operates on the same route.
The move is seen as a boost for tourism in Bodh Gaya, a major destination for Buddhist pilgrims from across the world. The improved air connectivity is expected to streamline travel for international visitors.
