Patna: The Inner Wheel Club of Patliputra organised an eye checkup camp at the Patna Vision Lounge of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital on Monday. Twenty club members participated in the camp, where they received detailed eye screenings and advice from experienced eye specialists. The camp aimed to promote eye health and help members detect any potential vision problems early.
The event was led by club president Situ Gandhi and supported by several active members, including former district chairperson Shweta Sinha, former president Suman Maheshwari, secretary Nilanjana, district editor Neelu Arora, and ISO Sudha Bidasariya. Their involvement helped in organising the camp efficiently and ensured all participants received proper guidance and attention during the screenings.
During the camp, members were examined for conditions such as glaucoma and retinal issues using the AI-based device Fundus on Phone. This technology allows doctors to detect eye problems quickly and accurately. Each member also received consultation from a senior eye doctor. Some members opted to get glasses prepared at the hospital’s in-house laboratory, located at Patna Vision Lounge.
Vivek Vikas, Chief Public Relations Officer of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, said that more such camps will be organised at Patna Vision Lounge near Income Tax Golambar and in other parts of Patna. Senior eye specialist Dr Dhananjay, optometrist Mayanka, and opticians Naveen, Gunja, Smriti, Tanu, and Pintu Kumar were present to help with examinations and consultations. The hospital hopes that these AI-assisted eye camps will make eye care easier and more accessible for everyone in the city.
