Siwan: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a campaign rally in Siwan, declaring that “the real Diwali will be celebrated on 14 November, when Lalu’s son is defeated.”
Addressing a huge crowd at Kailgarh High School grounds in the Sadar constituency, Shah praised the Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar governments for steering Bihar towards development. “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar freed Bihar from the dark days of jungle raj. Under his leadership, the NDA will once again form the government and take the state forward,” he said.
Paying tribute to Siwan’s legacy, Shah said, “This is the land of Dr Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, and a symbol of courage and sacrifice during the freedom movement. I bow to this sacred soil again and again.”
Recalling the turbulent years of RJD rule, Shah accused the opposition of unleashing fear and violence across Bihar. “For 20 years, the people of Siwan endured the terror of Shahabuddin and the atrocities of Lalu-Rabri’s rule. The land was soaked in blood, but the people of Siwan never bowed down. They uprooted that regime,” he declared.
Amit Shah called on voters to ensure a decisive victory for the NDA alliance, saying, “Bihar needs unity and progress, not division and corruption. The people will light lamps not only for Diwali but also for a new era of development.
