“The song Vande Mataram became the national slogan of the country’s independence. This song has always awakened patriotism,” Shah said during the programme. Earlier, he wrote on X that Vande Mataram is “not just a collection of words, it is the voice of India’s soul,” adding that it united the country against British rule and inspired revolutionaries with a sense of pride and sacrifice for the motherland.
‘वंदे मातरम्’ केवल शब्दों का संग्रह नहीं, भारत की आत्मा का स्वर है। अंग्रेजी हुकूमत के विरुद्ध ‘वंदे मातरम्’ ने देश को संगठित करके आजादी की चेतना को बल दिया। साथ ही, क्रांतिकारियों के मन में मातृभूमि के प्रति अटूट समर्पण, गर्व और बलिदान की भावना जगाई।

Shah’s visit to Bihar coincides with his campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state assembly elections. He is scheduled to hold public meetings in Jamui, Bhagalpur, and Purnia, and conduct a road show in Purnia’s Sadar Assembly constituency in support of BJP candidate Vijay Khemka.
The road show will begin at the Veer Singh Memorial at RN Shah Chowk and proceed via Lakhan Lal Chowk and Khiru Chowk, culminating at Aastha Mandir, where Shah will offer prayers. Senior NDA leaders are expected to participate in the event.
Purnia Sadar is considered one of the most closely contested seats in the district. The BJP’s Vijay Khemka, seeking a third consecutive term, faces the Grand Alliance’s Congress candidate Jitendra Yadav. Khemka, 61, a businessman and 12th-grade graduate, is regarded as a leader with an impeccable reputation. Analysts suggest a third consecutive win could pave the way for a ministerial position.
