Patna: Actress Anjali Raghav has announced her decision to leave the Bhojpuri film industry after a controversy involving singer Pawan Singh at a promotional event in Lucknow. A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing Pawan touching Raghav’s waist during a live performance.
Anjali addressed the controversy in two videos, explaining that she did not react at the time because she was unsure how the crowd, largely made up of Pawan’s fans, would respond. She said, “I got angry and felt like crying. But I did not understand what to do at the event because the audience there was his fan base.”
She added that she had planned to confront Pawan backstage, but he left the venue immediately after the performance. Attempts to reach his team later were unsuccessful, and she said advice from others prevented her from posting about the incident online.
Anjali emphasised that touching anyone without consent is wrong. She said, “I do not support this at all. Touching any girl without her permission is extremely wrong.” The actress expressed her desire to focus on new opportunities outside the Bhojpuri industry, adding that she is happy working with her family in Haryana.
