Aurangabad: Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Bihar’s Aurangabad district, while efforts are under way to trace a third person, officials said.
The case was reported from the Kutumba police station area. The girl, a Class 7 student, informed her family about the alleged incident after returning home, following which the police were alerted.
Two Suspects Arrested
Kutumba police said two suspects, reportedly from the same local area, have been taken into custody.
A third suspect remains at large, and police are conducting raids to locate him. Officials are also trying to recover the vehicle allegedly linked to the case.
Police Begin Investigation
Station House Officer Imran Alam said the police acted after receiving information about the incident and had begun investigating all aspects of the case.
“The police moved quickly after receiving the information and arrested two accused persons. Raids are continuing to apprehend the third accused,” Alam said.
The minor is undergoing the required medical and legal procedures as part of the investigation, police said.
Family Informed Police
According to the family’s account, the girl had left home to go to a hospital where her mother had been receiving treatment.
The family later informed the police after the girl returned home and reported the alleged incident.
Police have not disclosed further details of the investigation. As the survivor is a minor, her identity and other information that could lead to her identification are being withheld.
Further Action Under Way
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and further action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the probe.
Authorities are continuing their search for the remaining suspect and are examining the alleged role of all those connected with the case.
