Gaya/Patna: Jyoti Devi has alleged misconduct and physical intimidation during a confrontation involving her convoy in Gaya district, an incident that has also raised questions regarding the response of the local police.
The clash took place on Sunday in Gambhira village under the jurisdiction of the Mohanpur Police Station.
According to reports, the MLA was travelling to attend a social event organised by the “Adarshi Samaj” in the Bumuwar Panchayat area when her convoy was forced to stop due to a passenger vehicle allegedly parked in the middle of the road.
Altercation Escalated Between Security Personnel And Villagers
Witnesses said an argument began after security personnel accompanying the MLA asked those present to move the vehicle.
The dispute reportedly escalated quickly into a confrontation involving villagers and members of the convoy.
Eyewitnesses claimed:
- tensions continued for an extended period
- the MLA’s bodyguards were allegedly shoved
- chaos and commotion persisted at the spot
Despite the escalating situation, locals alleged that police did not reach the location promptly.
The incident has triggered criticism regarding police responsiveness and security arrangements, particularly as the matter involved an elected public representative.
MLA Alleges Misconduct And Physical Shoving
In a written complaint submitted to Mohanpur police station, Jyoti Devi alleged that she stepped out of her vehicle in an attempt to calm the situation but was herself subjected to:
- verbal abuse
- indecent behaviour
- physical shoving
The MLA stated that video footage of the incident was available and would be handed over to the police as evidence.
Several Named In FIR
According to the complaint, the following individuals have been named as accused:
- Palatu Yadav
- Sunil Yadav
- Deepak Yadav
- Sita Yadav
- Karu Malakar
- Rahul Malakar
- Vikram Thakur
In addition, 13 unidentified persons have also been named in the case.
Police had not publicly commented in detail on the allegations at the time of reporting.
