Patna: Family members and friends of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a resident of Bihar’s Bhojpur district who was killed in a police encounter, met Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor at the Bihar Nav-Nirman Ashram in Bihta on Monday.
During the meeting, Tiwari’s family appealed to Kishor to support their demand for justice and raise the issue before the authorities. They also invited him to participate in a panchayat scheduled to be held on June 24 to discuss the case.
According to the family members, they are seeking a fair and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the encounter.
Responding to their concerns, Prashant Kishor assured the family that Jan Suraaj would extend all possible support in their pursuit of justice.
The June 24 panchayat is expected to bring together local residents and community representatives to discuss the matter and press for accountability.
