Patna: The encounter involving Bharat Tiwari in Bihar’s Bhojpur district has triggered political and public debate, with differing accounts emerging from his family and the police. While authorities maintain their official version of events, the family has raised serious allegations demanding a judicial inquiry.
Mother Alleges Link to Rs 1,400 Crore Irregularities
Bharat Tiwari’s mother, Asha Tiwari, has alleged that her son’s death was not an encounter but a “planned killing” linked to his alleged knowledge of a Rs 1,400 crore scam.
She claimed that the irregularities were connected to development funds meant for Javaniya village, including housing for the poor and land-filling work, which she alleged were misused. She further stated that officials involved in the matter should face the death penalty if found guilty.
However, these claims have not been independently verified by PatnaPress.
Family Demands Investigation
Bharat Tiwari’s brother, Chandan Tiwari, has also alleged that the case is being suppressed and that a fair investigation is not taking place. He said an FIR had been registered but questioned the pace of judicial proceedings, claiming there had been no meaningful hearing so far.
Allegations of Threats
Asha Tiwari has also claimed that she and her family have received threats through social media. She alleged that despite these threats, no action has been taken by authorities. These allegations remain unverified at this stage.
Police Position Awaited
The police have maintained their version of the encounter and have not publicly responded to the fresh allegations regarding a scam or threats, as per available information.
The matter continues to draw attention as calls for a transparent investigation grow from multiple quarters.
