Patna: Ram Kripal Yadav, Bihar’s Minister of Cooperation, has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Patna after his health reportedly deteriorated suddenly. He is currently under medical supervision, while the hospital has not yet released an official medical bulletin on his condition.
Supporters, party workers and political leaders gathered at the hospital after news of his admission became public. Several visitors met doctors and conveyed their wishes for his speedy recovery.
Leaders Visit Hospital
Among those who visited the hospital was Sanjay Singh, a Member of the Bihar Legislative Council (MLC), who enquired about Yadav’s health. Party workers and supporters also continued to arrive at the hospital throughout the day.
The minister’s hospitalization has prompted concern among his supporters, although doctors are understood to be closely monitoring his condition and providing the necessary treatment.
Sodium Deficiency Reportedly Behind Illness
According to hospital sources, Yadav experienced sudden discomfort before being taken to Medanta Hospital for treatment.
Sources familiar with his treatment said the illness was linked to a sodium deficiency. They added that his sodium levels are expected to return to normal within the next 24 to 48 hours. If his recovery continues as expected, he could be discharged on Wednesday, although the final decision will depend on the assessment of the treating doctors.
Senior BJP Leader in Bihar
Ram Kripal Yadav is a senior political leader in Bihar and currently serves as the Minister of Cooperation in the state government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
He began his political career with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), where he was regarded as a close associate of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he left the RJD and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Yadav was subsequently elected to the Lok Sabha from the Patna constituency and served as Minister of State for Rural Development in the Union government. He is currently regarded as one of the BJP’s prominent Other Backward Class (OBC) leaders in Bihar politics.
