Patna: A new furniture and interior products manufacturing unit has been approved for Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, with the project expected to bring fresh investment and employment opportunities to the state’s industrial sector.
The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has approved the proposal for M/s City Advertising to establish the manufacturing facility at Dumaria Industrial Area. The project, with an estimated investment of Rs 14.74 crore, received clearance from BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee (PCC).
Manufacturing Facility Planned
The proposed unit will be developed on approximately 0.46 acres of land and will manufacture modular furniture, steel almirahs, and home and office interior products.
Officials said the project is expected to strengthen Bihar’s furniture manufacturing ecosystem by expanding the production of modern interior solutions within the state.
Employment Generation
According to BIADA, the manufacturing unit is expected to create around 50 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Officials said the project could also contribute to skill development and create new employment avenues for local youth as industrial activity expands in the region.
Government Push For Manufacturing
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the Bihar government is seeking to attract investments across a range of manufacturing sectors as part of its broader industrial development strategy.
She said projects such as the Muzaffarpur unit strengthen local industries while contributing to employment generation and economic growth.
Focus On Investor-Friendly Policies
Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Industries Department and Managing Director of BIADA and the Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA), said Bihar continues to promote industrial investment through infrastructure development, transparent procedures and investor-friendly policies.
He said investments in sectors such as furniture and interior products manufacturing are expected to support industrial expansion while creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment and skill development across the state.
