Patna: The Bhojpuri entertainment industry is set to enter the world of reality television with its first grand-scale show, Pyar Ka Panchayat, slated to premiere on television and OTT platforms in 2026.
The series will feature 16 contestants competing in challenges that test love, friendship, and strategy, drawing inspiration from MTV’s popular Splitsvilla. Bhojpuri actors Dimpal Singh and Rahul Dost have been announced as hosts, while Bunty Dubey and Sunil Majhi will direct the series. AR7 Entertainment, led by production manager Ajay Nigam, is behind the project.
Although Bhojpuri cinema has long enjoyed popularity for its films and music, reality television has remained largely untapped. Pyar Ka Panchayat aims to fill this gap, providing audiences with a platform that celebrates Bhojpuri language, culture, and identity while offering entertainment comparable to Hindi reality shows.
AR7 Entertainment has also revealed plans for a second reality programme, modelled on the Bigg Boss format. This series will involve 15 contestants, four directors, and a leading Bhojpuri actress as host. Filming is scheduled to begin in July 2026 in Uttar Pradesh, with the winner receiving 11 lakh rupees and a trophy. Producers hope both shows will usher in a new era for Bhojpuri entertainment, delivering the region’s first high-quality reality television experience in the native language.
