Patna: The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has approved 29 new industrial projects with a proposed investment of around Rs 6,000 crore, in a move the state government says will strengthen Bihar’s manufacturing base and generate approximately 3,000 employment opportunities.
The approvals were granted by BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee (PCC), which also allotted around 37.95 acres of industrial land for the projects. The committee additionally approved the allocation of Plug-and-Play sheds to help industries begin operations more quickly.
Investments Across High-Growth Sectors
According to the Industries Department, the approved projects cover a range of sectors, including advanced medical technology, food processing, textiles, chemical manufacturing, plastic products, optical emission spectrometers, electric vehicles, furniture and fixtures, lithium-ion batteries, compressed biogas (CBG), and general manufacturing.
The government said the projects are expected to broaden Bihar’s industrial base while encouraging investment in emerging manufacturing industries.
Industrial Units Across Bihar
The new units will be established in several industrial areas across the state, including Sikandrapur (Bihta), Hathua Phase-III (Gopalganj), Forbesganj (Araria), Lohat Phase-I (Madhubani), Bariyarpur (Muzaffarpur), and Fatuha (Patna).
Among the major investment proposals approved are those from Ampera Life India Pvt. Ltd., described by the department as the largest proposal cleared so far, along with Shri Shirdi Sainath Power Infratech Pvt. Ltd., Rungta Irrigation Ltd., Pankaj Traders, Anvira Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., Sangam Industries, Kalayan Plasto Industries, and Lisica Chemicals Pvt. Ltd.
Government Highlights Investor Confidence
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the steady flow of investment proposals reflected growing confidence in Bihar’s industrial policies and business environment.
She said the newly approved projects would strengthen the state’s position as a manufacturing destination while creating employment and skill development opportunities for local youth.
Focus On Faster Project Implementation
Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Industries Department and Managing Director of BIADA and the Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA), said the government remained committed to promoting balanced and sustainable industrial development.
He said industrial land was being allotted through a transparent and time-bound process, while improvements in infrastructure, connectivity and investor-friendly procedures were intended to facilitate the timely implementation of industrial projects.
According to the department, the latest approvals are expected to accelerate industrial growth, attract high-value investments and expand manufacturing and entrepreneurship opportunities across Bihar.
