Patna: Bihar government has announced plans to establish 100 fast-track courts to expedite the disposal of criminal cases and strengthen efforts to curb crime in the state.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made the announcement on social media platform X, stating that the proposed courts would help ensure speedy justice for victims and improve the efficiency of the criminal justice system.

Fast-Track Courts to Focus on Speedy Trials
According to the Chief Minister, the fast-track courts will facilitate quicker investigations and faster trials in serious criminal cases. The initiative is intended to reduce delays in judicial proceedings and ensure timely delivery of justice.
The government said the measure forms part of its broader strategy to improve law enforcement and enhance public confidence in the justice system.
Address at Gaya Conference on New Criminal Laws
Speaking at a two-day state-level conference on the implementation of the new criminal laws in Gaya, Samrat Choudhary said the event brought together senior officials from the judiciary, police and state administration.
He noted the presence of Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Kundan Kumar, a judge of the Patna High Court, members of the judiciary, judicial officers, senior police officials, Superintendents of Police and other government functionaries.
Focus on Timely Justice
Samrat Choudhary said the conference marked an important occasion for Bihar, where nearly 14 crore people depend on the judiciary, police and government institutions to secure justice.
He said the objective of the new criminal laws is to strengthen crime control, ensure timely justice for victims and enforce the law effectively.
Government Reaffirms Crackdown on Crime
Reiterating the state’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Samrat Choudhary said the Bihar government would continue taking strict action against criminals.
He said no guilty individual would be spared and that the government remained committed to upholding the rule of law across the state.
