Patna: The Bihar government has announced a major recruitment drive, creating 10,327 new posts across various departments, in a move seen as a boost for unemployed youth ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary took to social media on Thursday to share details of the recruitment, emphasising the ruling National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) goal of providing a government job to every household in Bihar. “Appointments to all these newly created posts will be made soon under the government recruitment process,” he said. “This campaign to provide government jobs and employment opportunities to youth will continue. Congratulations to the youth of Bihar!”

The department-wise breakdown shows the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department will recruit 5,953 people, followed by the Home Department with 3,568 posts. Other departments include Science, Technology and Technical Education (106), Art, Culture and Youth (143), Disaster Management (87), Education (89), Animal and Fisheries Resources (72), Finance (12), and Agriculture (293).
During the inauguration of development projects in Bhagalpur and Khagaria, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that over the next five years, one crore young people in the state would be provided with jobs and employment opportunities. He added that 10 lakh youth had already been given jobs, while 49 lakh had received employment support.
The announcement comes amid mounting political activity ahead of the assembly elections and is being interpreted by analysts as a strategic effort to address youth unemployment in Bihar.
