Patna: The Bihar government is preparing to provide residential land allotment certificates to 30,000 landless families on November 20, 2026, under the Abhiyan Basera-2 scheme.
The initiative, led by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, aims to help eligible families without residential land secure a place to build their homes. Beneficiaries are expected to receive plots measuring 3 to 5 decimals, subject to eligibility and allotment procedures.
District headquarters will organise special camps or ceremonies for the distribution of certificates, with public representatives expected to participate.
What Is Abhiyan Basera-2?
Abhiyan Basera-2 is a state government initiative intended to identify eligible landless families and provide them with residential land.
The government has directed officials to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the process. Progress under the scheme will be reviewed weekly at the headquarters level to monitor implementation and resolve pending cases.
The November 20 distribution drive is intended to extend the scheme’s coverage to another 30,000 families.
District Collectors Directed to Complete Preparations
The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has written to all district collectors, directing them to expedite preparations for the distribution programme.
Collectors have been instructed to get the lists of eligible families surveyed under Abhiyan Basera-2, including pending cases, verified through circle officers.
Officials have also been asked to enter details of newly identified beneficiaries on the Abhiyan Basera portal wherever required.
The department has set November 6 as the deadline for completing the preparation of land allotment certificates and obtaining the signatures of the concerned officials.
How Many Families Have Benefited So Far?
According to the information provided by the department, 93,916 beneficiaries have received benefits under the scheme so far.
This figure includes 30,085 eligible landless families who received residential land allotment certificates during a special drive on August 15, 2026.
If another 30,000 families receive certificates on November 20 as planned, the total number of beneficiaries will rise to approximately 1.24 lakh.
Weekly Monitoring to Ensure Eligible Families Are Not Left Out
The government plans to monitor the scheme’s progress regularly to ensure that eligible families receive their certificates within the prescribed timeline.
District administrations have been asked to verify beneficiary lists, complete pending documentation and ensure that certificates are ready before the distribution programme.
The initiative is aimed at expanding access to residential land for landless families across Bihar and helping eligible households secure a place to live.
