Bihar Agricultural University Buzzing with Energy on Day Three of Sports and Cultural Meet

BHAGALPUR – The fervor among the participants has soared on the third day of the Inter-College Sports and Cultural Meet 2023, held at the premises of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, on Sunday. Students who have previously showcased their writing skills are now making a lasting impression with their athletic performances. The high-achieving girls in academics are also dominating on the sports field.

In the 400-meter race, Priya Bharti from Girls, Udyan Mahavidyalaya, Noorsarai, Preeti Kumari from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), Sumedha Priyadarshi from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabaur, and Nunu Kumar from Boys, Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), Kamlesh Kumar (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agriculture College, Sabour, and Suraj Kumar (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agriculture College, Sabour secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively. In the 200-meter race, Ruby Kumari from Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj, Roop Rekha from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), and Ruby Kumari (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, clinched the first, second, and third positions among girls. Among boys, Rohan Kumar from Udyan Mahavidyalaya, Noorsarai, Nunu Kumar from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), and Nilesh Kumar from Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnia secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.

In the 4X100 meter relay race, the girls’ team from the College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour, secured the first position, followed by Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumraon (Buxar) in second place, and Horticulture College, Noorsarai, in third place. Among boys, the team from Horticulture College, Noorsarai, secured the first position, followed by (Post Graduate) Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, in second place, and the College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour, in third place.

In the Javelin Throw for girls, Nishu Priya (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, Shriya Singh (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabaur, and Kamini Jha from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively. Among boys, Sudhanshu Raj from Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College, Dumrao (Buxar), Madan Mohan from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabaur, and Deepak Chaudhary (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabaur secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.

In the girls’ high jump, Supriya Kumari from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, Neha Rani (Post Graduate Student) from Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, and Sonakshi Raj from Bhola Paswan Shastri Agricultural College, Purnia, secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.

In the semi-finals of Kabaddi, Mandan Bharati Agricultural College, Agwanpur, won against Horticulture College, Noorsarai. In the final volleyball women’s team, Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour (Post Graduate), won against Dr. Kalam Agricultural College, Kishanganj.

Various programs like badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, shot put, and cultural competitions like group dance, debate, allocation quiz, etc., were conducted. A cultural program was organized in the evening, featuring dance competitions, one-act plays, and short dramas, with participants from all colleges creating an enchanting atmosphere.

The Inter-College sports and cultural programs will conclude on Monday, with various college-level championships being declared, and students will be honored with certificates and gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Dean Agriculture Dr. Ajay Kumar Shah, Director, Student Welfare Dr. Fiza Ahmed, Amit Kumar, Officer-in-Charge Sports, B.A.U., were instrumental in conducting all the competitions regularly and on time at Sabour. Dr. Yanendra Kumar Singh, Incharge Officer Sports, Incharge Officer BAC Sabour, Dr. Awadhesh Pal, Dr. Ravi Ranjan, Convenor of the Cultural Program Dr. Shambhu Prasad, Dr. T. Chattopadhyay, Dr. Panda, and various event coaches played a vital role in organizing Kabaddi and Athletics.
