Bhagalpur: Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, has been conferred with the Pride of Nation Award 2025, recognising it as Bihar’s best university for its contribution to nationalism, patriotism and nation-building, officials said. The award was presented on December 16 at a ceremony held at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi. It was jointly organised by Veterans India, in collaboration with the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The Pride of Nation Awards aim to acknowledge educational institutions that extend their role beyond academic excellence to promote national pride, social responsibility and transformative leadership. The initiative aligns higher education with the National Education Policy 2020, the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and India’s long-term development vision, Viksit Bharat @2047.
BAU was selected for its sustained efforts to integrate national values into its teaching, research and extension activities. The university has encouraged students to participate actively in nation-building programmes, community outreach, farmer-centric development initiatives and youth leadership activities, officials said.
According to the organisers, these efforts have helped strengthen values such as national unity, civic responsibility, discipline and social commitment among students and the wider community, particularly in rural and agrarian regions.
Accepting the award, the vice-chancellor of BAU, D R Singh, expressed gratitude to Veterans India and the NBA. He dedicated the recognition to the collective efforts of the university’s students, faculty members, scientists, officers and staff.
Singh said the university would continue to focus on nurturing socially responsible and value-driven graduates, and on contributing to nation-building through agriculture, education and rural development.
