Patna: Bihar is set to mark its presence on the national and global technology stage with a dedicated pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026, scheduled to be held from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, in New Delhi.
The state’s participation, officials said, reflects its ambition to position itself as a growing technology hub in eastern India. The move follows the recent approval of the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, both aimed at attracting investment and strengthening the state’s digital and manufacturing ecosystem.
The Bihar pavilion, located in Hall 5-F at stalls 8 and 12, will be inaugurated on Tuesday by the deputy chief minister, Samrat Choudhary. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union minister for panchayati raj and for fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying, will attend as chief guest, while the Union textiles minister, Giriraj Singh, will chair the programme. Members of parliament from Bihar and other dignitaries are also expected to be present.
The pavilion’s management is being overseen by the state’s information technology department, led by secretary Abhay Kumar Singh and special secretary Arvind Kumar Choudhary.
Officials said the state government plans to use the summit to announce new initiatives linked to innovation, employment generation and the development of Bihar’s technology ecosystem. Startups and entrepreneurs from the state have been provided stalls free of cost, giving them an opportunity to showcase their work to an international audience.
The five-day summit is expected to draw participation from more than 100 countries, with leading global technology companies including Google, NVIDIA and OpenAI represented. Special sessions will be organised to connect startups with investors, alongside discussions on artificial intelligence and its wider social and economic impact.
The event aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and innovators on a single platform, fostering collaboration within the AI ecosystem. For Bihar, the summit represents both a symbolic and strategic step in its attempt to integrate more closely with the global technology landscape.
