Patna: A mega employment camp was organised on Saturday at the Institute of Public Health, where a recruitment team from Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital interviewed more than 100 students for potential job opportunities.
Dr Surendra Prasad Singh, director of the institute, said the initiative was aimed at providing strong career opportunities for students by connecting them with leading healthcare institutions through campus recruitment.
“The purpose of organising such employment camps is to ensure that our students receive quality career opportunities and are able to begin their professional journey with reputed hospitals and medical organisations,” Singh said.
Dr Shailendra Kumar, nodal officer for campus recruitment at the institute, said students from the bachelor’s programmes in optometry, operation theatre (OT) technology and laboratory technology participated in the interview process.
Representatives from Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital said the recruitment drive had been organised in recognition of the institute’s academic standards and the quality of training provided to its students.
Vivek Vikas, chief public relations officer at the hospital, said candidates shortlisted during the camp would be offered employment opportunities at the hospital after completing a final round of interviews.
The event began with the screening of a documentary titled Safar-nama, highlighting the 20-year journey and development of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital.
Chhaya Kumari, senior manager of academics and vision centres at the hospital, delivered a presentation on the role and career prospects of optometrists in the healthcare sector.
Several faculty members and officials attended the event, including Dr Gayatri Sunil, Dr Seema Sahay, Dr Rashmi Jaiswal, Dr Rajesh Ranjan, Dr Richa, Dr Aarti and Dr Bhupendra Narayan, along with students and staff of the institute.
