New Delhi/Patna: Bihar has been conferred the ‘Best State’ award for securing the highest number of approvals under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
The award was presented at the PMFME Conclave in New Delhi by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan to Aman Sameer, Director of MSME and Food Processing in the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar.
Focus On Formalising Micro Food Enterprises
Paswan said the PMFME scheme aims to provide financial and technical support to small food processing enterprises while helping them integrate into the formal economy.
Bihar’s recognition for securing the highest number of approvals highlights the growing potential of the state’s micro food processing sector and the support extended to small entrepreneurs.
Industries Minister Credits Entrepreneurs
Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh welcomed the recognition and said the award reflected the capability and efforts of the state’s micro-entrepreneurs and those working in the food processing sector.
She said the government is working to provide small entrepreneurs with financial assistance, technical guidance and improved access to markets.
Singh added that the achievement under the PMFME scheme could give further momentum to entrepreneurship based on local resources in Bihar.
Support For Upgradation And Branding
The PMFME scheme seeks to formalise and upgrade micro food processing units by providing support in areas including technical upgradation, infrastructure, branding and capacity building.
The recognition is expected to encourage more micro and small entrepreneurs in Bihar to expand existing businesses and explore new ventures in food processing and value addition.
