Patna: Bihar Grid Company Limited (BGCL) has declared its first interim dividend for the financial year 2025–26, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history. The decision was approved by the Board of Directors on 4 December.
The board has authorised Managing Director Rahul Kumar — who also heads the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and serves as Director (Projects) — to oversee the implementation of the dividend distribution process.
For the half-year ending September 30, 2025, BGCL reported a profit after tax of Rs 29.77 crore. Based on a capital base of Rs 270.64 crore, officials said the financial performance reflects the company’s strong position and steady operational progress.
In view of its financial results, the board approved an interim dividend of Rs0.50 per equity share, equivalent to 5% of the face value of Rs 10. The total pay-out amounts to Rs 33.74 crore and will be distributed in line with the Companies Act, 2013 and relevant dividend rules.
BGCL, a joint venture between the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited and the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, was established to implement and operate transmission projects in the state. Dividend distribution will follow the 50:50 shareholding pattern between the two entities.
Company officials described the announcement as a reflection of BGCL’s financial discipline and growing role in strengthening Bihar’s power transmission infrastructure.
