Patna: Former MLA and influential leader Anant Singh met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the residence of Building Construction Minister Ashok Chaudhary on Sunday morning, marking his first meeting with the Chief Minister after being released from jail.
The meeting came a day after Anant Singh participated in a roadshow in Mokama alongside Union Minister Lalan Singh. Both leaders reportedly spent several hours together during the roadshow, which attracted significant local attention.
Political analysts suggest the meeting could strengthen Anant Singh’s claim to contest the Mokama assembly seat. Anant Singh had earlier announced his intention to run from Mokama and publicly stated that he had secured the forfeiture of Tejashwi Yadav’s bail. His wife, Neelam Devi, currently holds the Mokama seat, having joined Janata Dal (United) from Rashtriya Janata Dal following the previous election.
The interaction between Anant Singh and Nitish Kumar at Ashok Chaudhary’s residence was cordial, with both leaders greeting each other warmly. No details of their discussion have been disclosed. Reports also suggest ongoing efforts to reconcile Anant Singh with local political rivals Sonu and Monu.
Anant Singh, who had recently secured bail in the AK 47 case, has openly praised Nitish Kumar in recent statements, highlighting his political alignment with the ruling party.
