Bihar Board Exams Begin Tomorrow: Strict Rules, Security Measures in Place

Patna: The Bihar Board Intermediate Annual Examination 2025 is set to begin from tomorrow with 12.92 lakh students appearing across 1,677 centres statewide. Authorities have announced strict security measures to ensure the exams remain fair and free from malpractice.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has deployed magistrates at three levels, installed CCTV cameras , and arranged for videography at all centres. The main entrance will be closed 30 minutes before the exam starts, and any student attempting to enter forcibly will face legal action under Criminal Trespass. Unauthorized individuals will not be allowed within 200 metres of exam venues.

Government’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ Approach

BSEB chairman Anand Kishor has directed all district magistrates, police superintendents, and education officers to ensure the strict implementation of guidelines. Officials have been asked to take action against anyone attempting to disrupt the examination process.

All district magistrates and police superintendents will remain on duty during the exams and have been instructed to monitor centres closely.

Security Arrangements at Exam Centres

Authorities have deployed magistrates in a three-tier system at the zonal, sub-zonal, and super-zonal levels. Police forces will be stationed at all exam centres to prevent any untoward incidents.

To curb cheating, students will be frisked at two levels:

  • At the main gate upon entry
  • Inside the exam hall by invigilators, at a ratio of one per 25 students

Electronic devices, including smartwatches and mobile phones, are banned. Only analog watches will be allowed.

Exam Schedule for Tommorow

The exams will be held in two shifts:

First shift (9:30 AM – 12:45 PM):

Subjects: Biology and Philosophy

Students registered: 5,04,657

Second shift (2:00 PM – 5:15 PM):

Subject: Economics (for Arts & Commerce students)

Students registered: 75,281

In Patna district, 75,917 students will take the exam at 85 centres, including 37,174 girls and 38,743 boys.

 

Women-Only Exam Centres

Each district has four model exam centres exclusively for female students, staffed entirely by female magistrates, invigilators, and security personnel.

Women-only centres in Patna:

1. BMP-5 School Camp Jail

2. Arya Kanya Higher Secondary School, Naya Tola

3. Dayanand Kanya School, Mithapur

4. Mahesh High School, Anisabad

Answer Sheet Collection Timings

Students will receive OMR answer sheets and written answer booklets together. The collection timings are:

Students will also receive pre-printed answer sheets with their photo, name, roll number, subject details, and exam date.

Strict Entry Rules

Students must arrive one hour before the exam begins to avoid delays.

The main gate will close 30 minutes before the exam starts:

  • First shift: Entry begins at 8:30 AM, gate closes at 9:00 AM.
  • Second shift: Entry begins at 1:00 PM, gate closes at 1:30 PM.

Latecomers will not be allowed inside.

Criminal Charges for Late Entry Attempts

Authorities have warned that students attempting to climb walls or force entry after the gate is closed will be charged with Criminal Trespass. Violators will face a two-year exam ban and possible legal action. Centre superintendents allowing such entries will face suspension and legal consequences.

Support for Disabled Students

  • Writers will be provided for students with disabilities.
  • They will also receive 20 extra minutes per hour as compensation.

Multiple Question Paper Sets to Prevent Cheating

To deter cheating, question papers will be issued in 10 different sets (A to J), ensuring that no two students in close proximity receive the same version.

Surveillance and Technology Restrictions

  • CCTV cameras will be installed at all centres.
  • One videographer per 500 students will be deployed.

Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and electronic gadgets are banned for both students and invigilators. Only the centre superintendent will be allowed to carry a mobile phone.
