Patna, September 25: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has extended the registration and permission application deadline for students who will appear in the Annual Secondary Examination 2028.
Students currently studying in Class 9, including those under the regular and independent categories, can now complete their online registration and permission applications from September 25 to October 9, 2026.
The extension has been announced to provide students who could not complete the process within the earlier deadline with another opportunity to register.
Registration Window Extended Till October 9
The earlier deadline for registration was September 24. Under the extended schedule, heads of recognised schools can register eligible students through the BSEB portal using their user ID and password.
Schools will be responsible for completing the registration process for students who were left out during the earlier window.
The board has also specified separate deadlines for fee payment and completion of the online application.
Fee Payment Deadline October 8
The prescribed registration and permission application fee can be deposited up to October 8.
Students whose fees have already been deposited but whose online applications remain incomplete can complete the application process by October 9.
Therefore, schools and students will need to ensure that the fee payment and application submission are completed within their respective deadlines.
Signed Declaration Form Must Be Uploaded
BSEB has introduced a specific requirement concerning the verification of students’ details.
For students registered during the extended period, the previously completed declaration form must be downloaded and signed by the student, parent or guardian and the head of the school.
The signed declaration form must then be uploaded to the BSEB portal.
The registration and permission application can be submitted finally only after the required declaration form has been uploaded.
Students whose fees have already been paid but whose applications are incomplete will also have to complete this requirement during the extended application window.
Students Must Be Careful While Selecting Subjects
The board has also advised students to exercise caution while selecting their subjects during registration.
The subjects with which a student is registered will determine the subjects accepted in the 2028 Matric examination application and fee submission. Any error in subject selection at the registration stage could therefore affect the examination application later.
Vocational Subjects Available As Eighth Subject
Under vocational education, several subjects have been included as options for the eighth subject.
These include Security, Beautician, Tourism, Automobile, Retail Management, Electronics and Hardware, Beauty and Wellness, Telecommunications, and Information Technology and IT-enabled Services (ITeS).
However, these vocational subjects can be selected only by students studying in designated schools where the respective courses are available.
Schools Asked To Complete Registration On Time
With the registration window now extended, recognised schools will have to ensure that eligible Class 9 students are registered within the revised schedule.
Students and their parents or guardians should also verify the details entered in the application, particularly the selected subjects, before the final submission.
The extended registration process will cover students preparing to appear in the Bihar Board Matric Examination 2028.
