Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board has released the quarterly examination timetable for students of Classes 9 to 12 for the 2026–28 academic session. The examinations will begin on July 1, with schools directed to complete result preparation by July 11.
Examination Timeline and Purpose
According to the Board, the quarterly assessments are aimed at tracking academic progress and evaluating students’ preparedness for upcoming board examinations. District Education Officers, school heads, and teachers have been issued instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.
The District Education Office is supplying answer booklets to schools. Principals who have not collected question papers have been instructed to obtain them from their designated affiliated schools.
Class 12 Examination Schedule
The Intermediate examinations will be conducted from July 1 to July 6 in two shifts each day.
The first shift will run from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, while the second shift will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Students will be given an additional 15 minutes to read and understand the question paper.
On July 1, Class 12 students will appear for Physics, Entrepreneurship and Philosophy in the first shift, followed by Chemistry, Accountancy and Political Science in the second shift.
On July 2, Mathematics will be held in the first shift, while Biology, Business Studies and Geography will take place in the second shift. English is scheduled for July 3 in the first shift, followed by Hindi in the second shift. Language papers will be conducted on July 4 in the first shift, with Psychology in the second shift. On July 6, Agriculture and Economics will be held in the first shift, followed by Sociology in the second shift.
Class 9 and 10 Schedule
Quarterly examinations for Classes 9 and 10 will be held from July 1 to July 3.
On July 1, students will appear for Mother Tongue in the first shift and Second Indian Language in the second shift. On July 2, Science and Music will be conducted in the first shift, followed by Social Science in the second shift. On July 3, Mathematics and Home Science will be held in the first shift, while English will be conducted in the second shift.
Special Arrangements
The Board has stated that provisions for visually impaired students will remain in place as per existing arrangements. Officials have been instructed to ensure fair and accessible conduct of examinations across all centres.
