Patna: A one-day workshop on intellectual property rights (IPR) awareness concluded at the Sub-Regional Science Centre in Bodh Gaya, aiming to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship in Bihar.
The event was organised by the Bihar Council on Science and Technology (BCST) in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), with support from the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
Around 100 participants attended, including representatives from government engineering colleges and polytechnics, as well as startups, researchers, innovators, and faculty members. The workshop featured expert discussions on IPR fundamentals, patent filing strategies, and free filing support available under the MSME-Innovative scheme.
Dr Surya Mani Tripathi, Global Head of Legal Services at ICRISAT Hyderabad, delivered a session on the importance of IPR in driving innovation and shaping the startup ecosystem.
Officials from the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, Government of Bihar, said the initiative aligns with the state’s mission to foster research, innovation, and scientific development.
