Lakhisarai: A 14-year-old boy died after being shot while checking a gun with his friends in Barhiya area of Lakhisarai district, Bihar. The incident took place on Thursday, but his body was found on Friday morning in bushes near Balkishan Singh Ganga Ghat in Khutha village.
The boy has been identified as Aman Kumar, son of Chunchun Singh, a resident of Khutha Chetan Tola. He was missing since 10am on Thursday. His family searched for him everywhere but could not find him. On Friday morning, some people going for a Ganga bath saw dogs barking near the bushes. When they went closer, they found Aman’s blood-soaked body lying there.
Police said Aman was with two of his teenage friends when they were checking a pistol-like weapon. During this, a bullet was fired by mistake from one of the boys’ hands and hit Aman on the head, killing him on the spot. Out of fear, his friends hid his body in the bushes. The police have detained both teenagers for questioning to find out exactly what happened.
Aman was a student of class eight at Madhya Vidyalaya Chetan Tola Khutha. He also helped his family by selling groceries and petrol at a small shop near the local police station. Police said they are waiting for the family’s complaint and will take further action after the post-mortem report.
