Patna: A major recruitment drive is under way in Bihar, with the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) inviting applications for nearly 5,200 posts under its Combined Graduate Level (CGL) and clerical examinations. Officials confirmed that the online application process for BSSC CGL Recruitment 2025 has entered its final stage, and candidates yet to apply are being urged to do so immediately.
This year, 1,481 vacancies will be filled through the CGL examination, alongside 3,727 posts for clerks and peons across state departments and offices. The large-scale recruitment drive is expected to provide thousands of young people with fresh employment opportunities in government service.
Applications can be submitted via the Commission’s official portals, bssc.bihar.gov.in or onlinebssc.com. Candidates are required to register with basic details, upload documents including photographs, signatures and educational certificates, and pay the requisite fee before final submission.
The preliminary examination for the CGL will be objective in nature, with 100 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 400 marks. Each correct answer will carry four marks, while one mark will be deducted for incorrect answers. The paper will test general knowledge (40 marks), general mathematics (30 marks) and general Hindi (30 marks), with a total duration of two hours. Details of the main examination will be announced later.
Officials added that this recruitment drive is part of the state’s broader effort to expand employment opportunities and strengthen staffing across departments.
