Patna: The Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCo) has announced a one-day workshop aimed at accelerating the completion of key urban infrastructure projects across the state. Branded as “Mission Project Completion”, the initiative is intended to move beyond routine reviews and focus on resolving long-standing implementation hurdles.
The workshop will be held on January 25, 2026 at Maurya Mandapam in Patna and will be chaired by BUIDCo’s managing director, Animesh Kumar Parashar. While project monitoring has so far taken place largely through video conferencing, officials say this in-person meeting will allow for a more detailed, ground-level assessment of progress.
Senior project officials from all 38 districts of Bihar, including project directors, deputy directors and assistant directors, have been asked to present comprehensive reports. According to BUIDCo, the emphasis will be on identifying practical solutions to delays, supported by site inspection findings, and on drawing up a clear roadmap to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
The agenda includes reviews of major schemes such as Namami Gange, urban water supply projects, cremation ground development and the Chief Minister’s Urban Integrated Development Scheme. Officials will present updated timelines through presentations, alongside discussions on financial clearances to prevent work from being held up due to funding issues.
In a bid to encourage accountability, BUIDCo will also release a performance-based ranking of districts ahead of the workshop. Officers and staff delivering strong results are set to be recognised on the corporation’s foundation day on June 16, 2026, a move the agency hopes will foster competition and improve delivery across the board.
