Patna: Bihar’s cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday, approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Ltd to develop the state’s first technology park in Gardanibagh, Patna.
The project is expected to attract more than 100 companies and generate over 5,000 direct employment opportunities, according to a statement issued by the state government’s Information Technology Department.
The cabinet approved the selection of NBCC (India) Ltd on a nomination basis under the Bihar Financial (Amendment) Rules and authorised the department to sign the MoU with the company.
Focus On IT Investment And Employment
The proposed tech park is expected to strengthen Patna’s ecosystem for information technology (IT) and IT-enabled services (ITES), expanding technology and business activities in the state capital.
The project also aims to attract investment in IT, ITES and electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM), creating opportunities for companies to establish and expand their operations in Bihar.
According to a cabinet note prepared by state IT Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, the facility is expected to provide employment to around 5,000 young people and help reduce the migration of skilled talent to other states in search of jobs.
